Best and worst delivery day of my career happened back to back in Louisville
Last Thursday I had the worst shift I can remember. Every light was red. Three different houses had dogs loose. Someone ordered a 60 pound bag of salt and lived on the fourth floor with no elevator. Tipped zero. Then Friday I get the same route and it's like the universe flipped. Every door had a clear path. One guy met me at his truck and said 'I used to do this job, take this' and handed me a $20. Another lady left out a cooler with cold waters and a sign saying drivers can grab one. Finished 45 minutes early. Nothing about the route changed, just the people and timing. My question is this: do you think days like that are random luck or do we carry a mood that makes it one way or the other? I've had plenty of neutral days. But these two back to back made me wonder if I'm reading the room differently on day two. Has anyone else had a pair of shifts that felt like night and day for no obvious reason?
