Dropped $180 on a fancy grounding mat for my desk last month
Figured it would fix my random headaches and static shocks at work. All it did was make my cat sleep on it and now I trip over the wire every morning. Anyone else fall for the wellness gadget trap?

Oh man, the crystal bracelet is the classic one! I had a friend who swore her rose quartz fixed her love life, but she's still single three years later (though maybe it's not the crystal's fault, you know?). The grounding mat thing got me too, I almost bought one until I read a review that said it's basically just a glorified wire to your outlet. I swear half these wellness gadgets are just counting on our brains to want a quick fix for stuff that's actually complicated.

Oh the "glorified wire to your outlet" thing is exactly what the science people say but honestly, does that make it less real? I've been using one for six months and my sleep quality went way up after I stopped questioning it lol. Sometimes you just gotta let the placebo effect do its thing!
