I used to roll my eyes at people who talked about slow fashion being better
But after buying a $15 shirt from a fast fashion place that literally fell apart after 3 washes, I decided to give a $60 linen shirt from a local brand a shot here in Austin. It's been through 20+ washes now and still looks new - has anyone else had that kind of flip where you totally change your mind on something you thought was just hype?

Sixty bucks for a linen shirt in Austin... I bought one from some pop-up at a farmers market last summer, swore it was gonna be a waste. But that thing has survived like 30 washes and still doesn't look like a wrinkled dishrag. Meanwhile I had a $12 H&M tee that gave up after two dryer cycles and a single drop of salsa. Guess the hype was right about something for once.

Same here, that H&M shirt literally disintegrated after one salsa stain and a wash lol.

and omg that's exactly what I'm talking about! I had almost the same thing happen with a cheap white button-up from Target, one coffee spill and it looked like I'd been fighting a bear in it. It's wild how some of those budget pieces just can't handle real life, you know? But honestly I'll still buy them sometimes because I can't resist a $10 shirt, even if I know it's gonna be a gamble. Glad I'm not the only one who's sworn off certain stores after a laundry disaster like that.
