Picked a Vevor winch over a Warn for my trailer project. It actually held up.
I was building a flatbed trailer to haul firewood up at my buddy's place outside Eugene. Everyone online said Warn or nothing, but I didn't have $700 to drop. Got the $180 Vevor 12k pound unit with a synthetic rope. Figured I'd be replacing it in a month. Eight loads later and it's still pulling strong through mud and everything. Did I just get lucky or are these cheaper ones actually getting better now? Anyone else take a gamble on a budget brand and have it work out?

Two years ain't bad for a budget winch" - sometimes you just get lucky.

Got the same gamble with a Badland winch and it's still kicking after two years of abuse.

2 years isn't that long for a winch honestly, I've seen cheap ones die in way less time.
