Talked to a 72 year old plasterer who made me rethink modern drywall

He said he still uses the same trowel from 1982 and that our new paperless tape is going to cause problems down the road. Made me wonder if we're trading durability for speed in this trade. Has anyone else had an old timer challenge the way you do things?

Bet that trowel's got more stories than a job site.

Ha, I gotta call you out a little. A trowel doesn't really hold stories, it just gets banged up and worn down. The stories come from the hands holding it and the mistakes made along the way. Ain't that the truth though, some tools sure do show their age.

Can't agree with you there, @phoenix_martin40 is right, that trowel's seen some stuff you haven't.
