Vent: I picked the cheap mystery tackle box over the $40 lure kit, and now I'm out $60 in bass lures that don't work
Last month I stood in the fishing aisle at the Sportsman's Warehouse in Boise and had to pick between a $25 mystery tackle box or a $40 bass lure kit that a guy on a forum swore by. I went with the mystery box because it had more pieces and looked like a better deal. Big mistake. Six of the eight lures were knockoffs that snapped on the first cast, and I lost two good bass because the hooks bent out. So I went back and dropped another $35 on replacement hooks and line, which means the cheap box actually cost me $60 total. Has anyone else gotten burned by those grab bag boxes, or did I just get a bad one?

Which brand was the box? Some are way worse than others.
