Auto-corrected 'grain' to 'groin' in a text to my landlord in Toledo
I was complaining about a squeaky floorboard in my rental and my phone changed 'grain in the wood' to 'groin in the wood' right before I hit send. The landlord replied 'what the hell are you doing in there' and now I have to see him at the mailbox tomorrow. Anyone else have a phone typo turn a basic maintenance gripe into something creepy that you never fully recover from?

Your landlord is probably still thinking about it right now, like at 2am he's just staring at the ceiling wondering what kind of operation you're running in his rental. The real nightmare isnt the text, its that you have zero control over when the memory pops back up. He'll be totally normal at the mailbox, hand you your mail, and then some small part of his brain replays the message and his eye twitches a little. That twitch is gonna live in your head for the rest of your lease. Honestly the only move is to never bring it up and hope ten years of renters wash it out of his memory. If he ever asks, just say your phone is old and does weird stuff, which is technically true.
