Duct placement made my AC bill drop 18% last month

I redid the flex duct runs in my Phoenix garage conversion, moving two vents from the east wall to the ceiling along the shaded side. My July electric bill went from $312 to $256, which I didn't expect from just shifting airflow. Anyone else seen big savings from repositioning vents instead of adding insulation?

Yeah moving vents to the ceiling on the shaded side is a huge deal especially in Phoenix where that attic space gets crazy hot. I did something similar in my place a couple years back and saw my bill drop a good chunk too. It's not really about insulation at that point, it's about not running duct through a 140 degree attic any longer than you have to. The shorter the run and the less sun it sees, the more cold air actually makes it to the room. People sleep on vent placement but it can honestly matter more than adding another layer of attic insulation. You basically cut your duct heat gain way down by putting those runs in a better spot.
