Installed tint film on my south-facing windows backwards... for 8 months.

I finally noticed when the afternoon sun started peeling the edge and realized the shiny side was supposed to face out. Has anyone else messed up something simple like that on a desert house?

Oh come on, is a little extra heat really the end of the world?

The UV rays probably did more damage than the heat alone. South facing windows in a desert get crazy UV exposure, and having the film backwards means the coating that blocks UV was facing inside instead of out. I bet your floors and furniture faded way faster than normal over those 8 months. My buddy in Phoenix did the same thing and his hardwood floors got bleached out in patches right where the sun hit.

Whoa, did the heat just cook the adhesive or what? I once put a whole roll of reflective bubble wrap on my garage door the wrong way and it basically just turned into a greenhouse in there for a summer.
