My neighbor in Scottsdale convinced me to test paint colors on cardboard first
She said the desert sun shifts every shade about two tones lighter by noon, so I did a 3 day test with 5 samples on old moving boxes propped against my stucco wall, and now I'm rethinking the whole exterior palette, has anyone else dealt with this weird glare factor?

Had a buddy in Tucson who painted his whole house based on a single paint chip he liked at the store, and by midafternoon that wall looked like a totally different color. He ended up repainting within a month because the morning color he fell in love with turned into something he called baby aspirin pink by 2pm. The funny part is the paint store folks knew it too, they just never warned him. Cardboard is actually smart because it curves the same way the stucco texture does, which flat paper never does. Doing it over 3 days was the right call since one day gives you a false read of how the light really moves. Stucco out here just eats and bounces sunlight in a way flat siding back east never does.
