Rant: Stop painting your stucco with standard exterior paint
I keep seeing people in Phoenix grab a can of Behr from Home Depot and slather it on their stucco walls. That stuff traps moisture underneath and will blister off within 6 months out here. Has anyone else dealt with peeling paint after a monsoon season?

You're making it sound worse than it is, my neighbor's Behr job lasted two years.

And that's exactly my point though, two years is nothing when you're talking about a real paint job. If you prep right and use a quality product like Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore, you're looking at 7 to 10 years easy before it even needs a touch up. The time and money people save by going cheap just gets eaten up by having to repaint way sooner. It's like buying tires for your car, you can get the cheap ones but you'll be replacing them twice as fast and probably dealing with worse handling the whole time.

Bet your neighbor's not happy about having to do it all over again already.
