Switched from tinted windows to reflective coating on my south-facing wall and wow, what a difference

I had those dark tinted windows for 3 years here in Tucson and they still let in so much heat during summer afternoons. Last month I finally tried a reflective window coating from the hardware store for about $80. My living room dropped almost 10 degrees and I don't even need the blinds pulled anymore. Has anyone else tried both and noticed a big temp change?

Dropped almost 10 degrees" is insane, I gotta try that. I had the same dark tint in Phoenix for like 2 years and it barely touched the heat, just made the room dark as heck. Swapped to a reflective film last summer and my afternoon temps went from like 85 to 75 in no time, best $80 I ever spent. Plus you can actually see outside now without those ugly blinds.

Double check that dark tint isn't actually reflective.
