Tried white quartz in my Phoenix kitchen and it stained within a week
I put in white quartz countertops during my kitchen reno in Phoenix, thinking it would handle the heat and dust better than granite. After just one week a red sauce spill left a permanent mark even though I cleaned it right away. Anyone else have quartz fail in a desert climate or should I have sealed it different?

Wow, that's rough. I'd follow up what @richard_young80 said about factory sealants and ask your installer if they skipped that step.

Probably needs a factory sealant applied in Arizona's dry assembly process. My neighbor's same quartz crumbled after three months here.

@sarahpark my aunt's quartz did the same thing after one super dry summer, weird coincidence.

Oh man, that's rough. I'm sorry to hear about your neighbor's countertop, that's a lot of money to just fall apart. It sounds like a real headache to deal with.
