Blown head gasket on the 401 at 6am taught me to stop trusting antifreeze color
Hauling a reefer load near Toronto when it started overheating, pulled over and the cooland looked fine but the oil was milky. Cost me $2800 for a tow and rebuild because I trusted the green fluid instead of checking for combustion gas. Anyone else stop using color as a quick diagnosis after a failure like this?

Milky oil would've told you that before you even shut it down.
