Bought a 'rebuilt' injection pump off a guy in Tulsa... it lasted 27 hours.
I was in a bind on a 6.0 Powerstroke and this guy swore it was a solid unit for $850. Got it in, truck ran great for a day and a half, then it just quit. Tore it down and found cheap, worn-out internals that were clearly just cleaned up, not rebuilt. Lost the pump cost, plus two full days of labor I had to eat. Learned the hard way that a deal from a random shop van isn't always a deal. Anyone know a legit source for reman pumps that won't blow up in a week?

Got burned the same way last year. Ended up using Alliant Power for a 7.3 pump and it's been solid for 18 months now.

Was Alliant cheaper too?

Honestly, cheaper doesn't always mean better in the long run. I've seen those budget parts fail way too fast and cost more to replace. Sometimes paying a bit more upfront saves you a huge headache later.
