Ran my own shop in Nashville for 13 years and always swore by click-type torque wrenches. About 5 months ago a younger guy on a job site let me borrow his digital adapter for torquing head bolts on a 6.7 Powerstroke. I figured it would be another gimmick that needs calibration every week. But after using it on 24 bolts and checking with my old wrench afterward, every single reading matched within 2 ft-lbs. The real kicker was the angle mode, it caught me overshooting a torque-to-yield bolt that I would have ruined without it. That little tool cost me $85 and it paid for itself the same week when I did a DPF delete on a fleet truck. Has anyone else switched over or am I the last dinosaur still holding out?
