Just realized I've been torquing injector hold-downs by feel for 15 years and that's why I kept chasing leaks
Used to just snug them down with a 3/8 ratchet and call it good, figured if it felt tight it was tight. Had a 6.7 Cummins come back twice with a fuel knock and I finally broke out the torque wrench and hit 44 inch-pounds in sequence like the book says. Haven't had a comeback since, that was about 8 months ago. Turns out my 'feel' was about 20 inch-pounds on some and 70 on others. Any of you guys got a spec you ignored for way too long because it always seemed to work out?
