Saw a kid rebuilding a 12-valve with a torque wrench from Harbor Freight

He was cranking down head bolts like they were lug nuts. Told me the click was just a suggestion. Anyone else notice new guys don't respect torque specs on these old Cummins?

Bet that torque wrench is still clicking away in his toolbox, proud of its work. Head gasket's gonna be a real "suggestion" too when that thing lets go on the interstate. The difference between a click and a torque spec is apparently just vibes to these kids.

Nah, torque wrenches have their place but these things usually hold up fine without one.

Heard a guy at the shop say the same thing about an LS swap once.
