A gallery show in Portland made me rethink how I post my work online
I was at the First Thursday art walk last month, showing a new series on a big screen. Someone walked up and said, 'I saw this piece on your Instagram feed two weeks ago, it feels less special now.' That comment stuck with me. I realized I was posting finished pieces immediately, killing any surprise for an in-person audience. Now I hold back my best work for at least a month before putting it online. Has anyone else started keeping a 'gallery reserve' for their digital art?

Used to post everything right away but that comment would bug me too. Holding stuff back makes total sense now.

Same here, I started waiting a day before hitting post. That little pause lets me see if I actually care about the thing or if I was just mad in the moment.
