Digital painting trick that fixed my muddy colors in one afternoon
I kept ending up with art that looked dull and gray even when I used bright colors. Spent months tweaking brushes and settings. Then last week I tried something simple: I put a vibrant blue layer on top with the 'color' blend mode at 15% opacity. It pulled the whole piece together. The blue added depth without changing the actual hues. Has anyone else used a single color overlay to fix their lighting?

Heard a pro digital painter say something similar - they use a warm yellow overlay at low opacity to unify skin tones and shadows. Makes sense that one hue can tie everything together without messing with your base colors.

That just sounds like you're covering up bad color theory instead of fixing it.

Not sure I'd call it bad color theory, more like making the best of a situation where the lighting isn't helping. Sometimes you gotta work with what you have instead of fighting it, you know?
