Had a guy at a con tell me my stylus work was 'too shaky'

I was at Anime Expo last year showing a portrait I spent 6 hours on in Clip Studio. This dude walks up, doesn't even say hi, just points at the line art and goes 'your brush control needs work'. He wasn't even an artist himself, just some random attendee. I stood there trying to explain it was intentional for texture but he'd already walked off. Has anyone else had someone critique your art without knowing what you were going for?

My buddy had some guy at a Ren Faire tell her pottery looked "lopsided" when it was literally a wonky mug.

Gotta push back a little here. You said the shaky lines were for texture but if the guy was just passing by he only saw what he saw in that moment. Plenty of artists use wobbly lines on purpose for a handmade feel but without context it can look like beginner work to someone who doesn't know any better.
