My digital painting just hit 1,000 hours of work time

I was checking my project file and the software clocked 1,000 hours on a single sci-fi cityscape piece. It made me realize how much unseen effort goes into the details, like hand-placing every window light. Does anyone else track their hours on big projects?

Honestly, how do you even stay focused on one piece for that long? I'd get so bored doing the same windows over and over. Did you have to redo big sections or was it just slow adding all the tiny stuff?
