Rant: I was flattening every layer in my Procreate files for months

I kept having to redo whole sections when a client asked for small changes, which was a huge pain. The moment I saw my friend's file with over 50 separate, labeled layers for just one character, it clicked. I was merging everything down way too early because my old tablet couldn't handle it, but my new iPad Pro can. Now I'm rebuilding my process from the ground up. How do you guys organize your layers for big projects?

Honestly, that "rebuilding my process" part hits hard. My friend did the same thing after her old laptop died and she lost a huge project with flattened files. She spent a whole weekend just making layer groups for sketches, line art, and flat colors on everything new. Tbh it's a pain at first but saves so much time later.

Yeah the "saves so much time later" part is so true, I started naming all my layers and it's a game changer lol.
