Saw a detail in the latest Clip Studio Paint update that caught me off guard
I always read the patch notes for Clip Studio Paint, and in the recent 3.1.2 update I noticed they added support for a specific kind of color profile for wide gamut monitors. Most folks in this community seem to brush off color management as unnecessary for digital art, but I dug into the notes and found out that the new setting actually affects how your art displays on modern screens. Has anyone else here bothered to test it with their own work?

Honestly I think color management gets way too much hype for what it actually does. Most people's screens are not calibrated the same anyway, so chasing that profile is like trying to hit a moving target. Even if you get it looking perfect on your wide gamut monitor, someone scrolling on their phone will see something totally different. Unless you're printing physical copies or selling to galleries, it's just extra steps that don't matter for digital work posted online.

My buddy Rick spent three weeks once trying to match the teal in a logo on his fancy monitor, then emailed it to me and on my old laptop it looked straight up green. He about lost his mind over it. That's when I figured out that unless you're mailing someone a physical proof, you're basically just guessing anyway. So I just make stuff look decent on my screen and move on with my day.
