Saw a digital art piece in a Denver cafe that used old projectors
I was at a coffee shop in Denver last week and they had this wild digital art piece on the wall. It was a moving landscape made from three old slide projectors pointed at the same spot. The artist told me they wrote custom code to make the images fade and shift together. It was so different from just seeing stuff on a screen. Has anyone else seen art that mixes old tech with new software like that?

Bet that cost more than the coffee, right?

Wait, what makes you think that?

There was a whole show at a gallery last year that used old overhead projectors from schools. They hooked them up to small computers to make these moving ink blots that looked alive. It had this cool, shaky quality you just don't get with a clean digital screen. The mix of the old blurry lens and the new, smooth code was the whole point. It makes the art feel more like a one-time thing you're seeing, not just a perfect loop.
