Spent three days trying to get a custom brush to work in Krita, only to find the fix was a single checkbox.

I mean it's a brush in a free art program, not like you were fixing a car or something. A few hours clicking around is pretty standard for figuring this stuff out honestly.

Oh man, that "single checkbox" fix hits way too close to home. I once lost a whole afternoon because I didn't have "preserve alpha" checked on a layer while trying to mask something. The solution is always hiding in plain sight, isn't it?

My first year with digital art had a week where my blending brushes just would not work right. It turned out the brush spacing was set to zero by mistake. Sometimes those tiny settings make a huge difference, and finding them is part of the learning curve.
