That one week I got 47 likes on a single piece and felt weird about it
I posted a simple sketch of a cat sitting on a fence last Tuesday, nothing special, just a 20 minute doodle during lunch. It blew up way more than the detailed portrait I spent 8 hours on the week before, which only got 12 likes. Has anyone else noticed that their quick, messy stuff sometimes gets way more attention than the polished pieces they actually worked hard on?

Oh totally, my quick doodle of a sleepy goldfish got way more love than anything I ever spent hours on.

Wait, a goldfish? Like a literal fish that sleeps? That's wild.
You must have captured some kind of magic in that doodle, because sleepy animals (or fish, I guess) just hit different.
No way a quick sketch of a fish got more likes than a piece you actually labored over, but hey, the internet works in mysterious ways.

That "sleepy goldfish hit different" part is so true. My buddy Max once drew a quick little picture of his cat yawning in like 30 seconds, and he got over 200 likes on Facebook. He'd spent a whole weekend painting this super detailed landscape of a mountain scene with all these tiny trees, and it only got like 15 likes. The yawning cat picture was just a rough sketch with his phone camera too. He was so mad about it he didn't draw anything for like two months. The internet really does have a mind of its own.
