The Brushes I Hated are Now All I Use
Back in 2017 I swore by these harsh square brushes for my landscapes. They felt like the only real option for texture. Then last year at a small gallery show in Portland, I saw this guy's piece where the clouds looked like actual clouds, not just blobs. He told me he used a set of soft round brushes that I had written off as too basic. It took me like 6 months to finally try them and I felt pretty dumb. Now I own 3 sizes of his exact set and my reddit posts get way more comments on blending. Has anyone else had a tool they dismissed for years that ended up being your favorite?

$10 at Michaels changed my entire painting style. Still can't believe I ignored those brushes for years.

Traded my ego for a paintbrush, turns out soft rounds were the real deal all along.
