Used a screen recording to capture my digital painting process for the first time

I decided to record my workflow on a 4-hour landscape piece last week. Turns out I spend way too much time zooming in and out instead of actually painting, and the final video was mostly just me second-guessing brush strokes. Has anyone else found that recording yourself changes how you approach a piece?

Honestly, this is way too real! I did the same thing with a portrait study and ended up with a 30 minute video of me just zooming in on the eye area and then zooming back out. It's wild how much time we spend second-guessing ourselves, but recording it definitely forces you to notice your own habits. Tbh I think I paint a little faster now because I don't want to bore myself or anyone watching with all the back and forth. Glad I'm not the only one who found out they zoom in way too much!

Wait, isn't it like that with everything though? We do all this extra stuff when nobody's watching, but the second there's a camera or someone's looking over your shoulder, suddenly you realize how much time you waste.
