Vent: Had to choose between finishing my digital painting or saving a corrupted file layer
I picked saving the layer because my tablet pen was dying at 5%, then the whole program froze anyway and I lost both the layer and the 3 hours of work on that glowing elf portrait, anyone else ever get stuck between two bad options and pick the worst one?

Have you ever noticed how the universe seems to pick the exact worst moment to mess with you? That really sucks, sorry that happened. I swear digital art programs have a sixth sense for when your battery is about to die. You pick the one thing that seems safe and it just backfires completely.

5 times out of 5 my laptop saves the dramatic crash for when I'm 12 layers deep and haven't hit ctrl+s in 45 minutes. It's like the universe watches me get comfortable just to pull the rug out. My old tablet used to time its battery death to the exact frame I was rendering something important. Honestly though, at this point I just save every 30 seconds like a paranoid mess. It's the only way to fight back against the tech gremlins.

Actually saving the layer first was the right call, you just got unlucky with bad timing.
