Deleted 12,000 photos last night and it hurt less than I thought
I finally got sick of my phone telling me storage was full every time I tried to update an app. So I sat down and went through my camera roll from 2018 to now. Deleted about 12,000 photos and screenshots, mostly blurry food pics and random screenshots I saved for no reason. The weird part is I don't miss any of them yet. Has anyone else found that once you actually delete stuff you barely think about it again?

My 87 year old neighbor just did this with physical photos. Boxes of them. She said it was like lifting bricks off her chest. Something about letting go of proof you were there so you can just remember being there instead.

That old photo purge really does free up your headspace big time.

Used to think keeping everything was the right call, but hearing that makes total sense now. Sometimes the memory is better without the stuff weighing it down.
