Hit 55,000 unread emails and my phone actually froze
I was casually clearing my inbox yesterday when my iPhone just locked up for a full minute after hitting that number. Has anyone else's device straight up refused to cooperate past a certain hoarding milestone?

Oh man, that's brutal. I hit 30k once and my mail app started taking a solid 5 seconds just to open, but 55k is a whole other level. So here's my question - was it a gradual slowdown where you noticed it getting sluggish over time, or did it just suddenly nope out on you when you crossed that number? Like did the phone give you any warning signs before it locked up? I'm trying to figure out if there's a hard limit or if it's more of a cumulative thing.

Yeah, it's like how a kitchen drawer gets jammed right when you add one last spatula.

Quinn's kitchen drawer analogy (@richard_young80) is spot on, but what I'm really curious about is whether you noticed a specific slowdown pattern, like certain folders or search functions giving up way before everything else. Did the mail app start lagging hardest on messages with attachments, or was it just a flat-out system-wide freeze?
