My buddy swore by this folder naming trick and it actually works

A friend who runs a small IT shop told me to name all my project folders with dates first, like 2024-10-15_ProjectName. I fought him on it for months because my old system felt fine. Last week I needed to find a file from a job I did back in March and I found it in maybe 10 seconds flat. It sounds stupid simple but switching that one thing cleared out about 40 random unnamed folders I had sitting around. Has anyone else had a tiny tweak like this cut down their digital clutter way more than expected?

Yeah that date trick is legit, I was a holdout too til I tried it.

That "40 random unnamed folders" part hit home, I bet half my desktop is still just "New Folder (3)".
