That stat about 47% of people never clearing their downloads folder got me
I read this thing on a tech blog last weekend that said almost half of users just let their downloads folder grow forever without ever cleaning it out. Made me look at my own folder and yeah, I had stuff from three years ago sitting there. Old PDFs, random screenshots, a setup file for a program I don't even use anymore. That number really hit me because I thought I was the only one who just ignored that folder. I checked my work computer too and it was even worse, had 800 files in there from who knows when. Has anyone else here actually cleaned out their downloads folder or do you just pretend it doesn't exist?

Different folks have different priorities, not a big deal.

Your mileage may vary for sure. For me, setting a few simple boundaries with my time helped a ton.

Nah, keeping that folder messy is actually smart. Digital hoarding is underrated because you never know when you'll need that random installer or PDF from 2019. I've saved myself a few times by digging through old downloads instead of hunting down a link or asking IT for a file. Clearing it out just guarantees you'll need something right after.
