Three years of backup drives finally paid off last week
I kept every version of my business spreadsheets since 2019 tucked away on an old external hard drive. Last Wednesday, ransomware hit my office computer and wiped out a year of job records. Has anyone else found that holding onto old digital junk actually saved them in a crisis?

Found an old hard drive with my college backups once and it had the only copy of a database I needed for a side project five years later. So yeah, sometimes that digital hoarding actually comes in clutch lol.

That backup really saved you huh? I know that feeling, its wild how stuff you almost throw away ends up being the exact thing you need years later. @elliot_roberts, I've got this old USB drive from 2016 that I nearly erased, but it had the only working config files for a game server I set up again last summer. Total lifesaver when nothing else worked.
