Tried cloud storage vs local backup for 3 months, the winner was clear

I kept all my photos and documents on Google Drive for years but ran out of space last year. I switched to an external SSD, a 2TB Samsung T7, and honestly it's way faster to find things. No more waiting for uploads or worrying about internet going out. Has anyone else made the switch and felt like it made their digital mess easier to manage?

Did you notice a big difference in how fast you can find old files with the SSD?

The old drive was like waiting for a dial-up modem to load a single picture. Swear I'd start a search, go make coffee, come back, and it'd still be spinning. Now with the SSD, it's click and done before my finger even leaves the mouse. Honestly thought I was imagining things at first. Made me wonder if my brain was just slower or the computer was finally catching up. Still catch myself staring at the screen waiting for nothing, like some kind of reflex.

Huge difference. With the old hard drive I’d forget what I was even looking for by the time it loaded.
