Vent: My brother told me to just bookmark everything and now I have 900+ tabs
Last month my brother said bookmarks are the way to go, so I stopped closing tabs and just bookmarked every interesting page. Now I have over 900 tabs open across three windows on my laptop. My phone browser crashed twice this week and I can't even find the article I actually needed for work. He meant well but his advice made my hoarding way worse. Has anyone else had a friend give you storage tips that backfired like this?

My buddy Mark tried to help me with this exact thing last year. He said I should use the "read later" feature in my browser, so I started saving every article, recipe, and random Wikipedia page I found interesting. Three months later I had 1,200 unsaved articles and my browser kept crashing every time I opened it. I finally found a work email I needed from six months ago buried in there, but it took me two hours to dig it out. Ended up just deleting everything and starting fresh, which kind of defeated the whole point.

Okay but hold on, "unsaved articles" is a weird way to put it. You meant "unread" right? If you saved them then they were saved. I get what you're saying though. That read later thing is a trap. I fell into it too. You just keep piling stuff on and never actually go back to read it. It becomes a digital hoarding situation. Deleting everything was probably the smartest move honestly. Sometimes a clean slate is the only way.
