Finally cracked a consistent routine after a month in Chiang Mai
I've been bouncing around Southeast Asia for about 8 months now, and I could never get a solid work rhythm down. Then I landed in Chiang Mai last month and stayed at a co-living place near the old city. Something about having a dedicated desk with other people working around me just clicked. I started waking up at 6am to beat the heat, working until noon, then exploring temples or hitting the night markets. It sounds simple, but after trying coworking spaces in Bali and Vietnam that were too distracting, this setup actually stuck. My income actually jumped 15% last month just from being more consistent. Has anyone else found a specific city or setup that finally made the lifestyle work for them?

Thought Chiang Mai would be overhyped but now I get why everyone stays so long.

Isn't the air quality there pretty bad half the year though?

Used to think the smog was overblown honestly. But after spending a few months here last year I changed my MIND completely. The burning season is no joke, it really gets BAD from like February to April. You can taste the smoke in the air and everything gets hazy. Still though, the rest of the year is SO nice that I think it balances out.
