Picked a slow ferry over a cheap flight in Thailand and it changed everything
Back in 2018 I was in Koh Samui trying to get to Koh Phangan and I had to choose between a 30 minute flight for $60 or a 4 hour ferry for $12. I went with the ferry because I wanted to save money and honestly I was scared of those tiny planes. Best decision honestly. I met a guy named Tom from Sweden on that boat who told me about this co-working space in Chiang Mai that I ended up staying at for 6 months. The ferry ride was beautiful too with the islands passing by and the ocean breeze. If I had flown I would have missed all that. Has anyone else picked the slower option and ended up with a better experience?

The slow ferry made my trip too, way better than rushing.

Is that the one that chugs along the coast past all those little islands? I took it last summer and ended up loving every minute of it, even though it took twice as long as the fast one. Had a solid bleary-eyed conversation with an old guy about fishing spots the whole way, wouldn't trade that for anything.
