Rant: That guy in the coworking space who said being a digital nomad is just a vacation
I was in a coworking space in Chiang Mai last month, typing away on a deadline, and this dude in a linen shirt just walks up and says 'must be nice to travel for a living, basically a permanent vacation.' I told him I've got three kids back home I'm supporting, I work 50 hours a week across time zones, and I haven't seen a beach in two weeks. He just laughed and said I was missing the point. Has anyone else dealt with people acting like this is all fun and games?

Oh please, it's basically Airbnb with extra steps.

@zara_sanchez reminds me of that guy who tried to rent out his broom closet for $200 a night.

Extra steps" is putting it nicely lol. I actually saw a news report the other day about some of these rental lockers going for like $50 a night and the lockers were barely big enough for a suitcase. They had a camera inside watching people sleep too. That's not Airbnb, that's just a storage unit with a pillow. And the fees were insane, like $30 cleaning fee for a box with no bathroom. Makes broom closet guy look like a luxury resort.
