Update: My laptop charger died in a Chiang Mai cafe and I had to get creative
Was working from a spot called Blue Diamond last Tuesday. My charger just stopped. No warning. The owner only had a plug for a Samsung phone. I used my power bank to charge my phone, then tethered internet from it to my laptop. Got the job done, but the battery died right after I hit send. Anyone else had to do a weird tech shuffle like that?

Totally. That Hello Kitty charger story is the real fear. You just know someone's gonna take a photo of it.

Honestly, that sounds like way more hassle than just asking around for a charger.

Yeah, asking around sounds easier until you're the one being asked. My buddy spent a whole afternoon last week going desk to desk like a charger salesman because his phone was at 1%. He finally found one, but it was some weird off-brand plug that charged slower than a turtle walks. Maxl93, your method works until you're stuck using a pink Hello Kitty charger in a serious office meeting.

Jump right into borrowing a charger and you end up with something that charges slower than my grandma walks to the mailbox. @paige_robinson24 is totally right about that Hello Kitty nightmare photo waiting to happen. I can just picture someone's boss walking in while they're plugged into a tiny pink brick with cat ears on it. Bet that coworker never lives that meeting down.
