A furnace failure turned into a surprisingly good week
The heat went out in my apartment last Tuesday, and for the first time since the split, I had to figure out a household emergency completely alone. Has anyone else had a small win like that, where fixing something yourself felt like real progress?

How about fixing a leaky faucet and feeling like a total boss for a week?

Wait, a week? I mean, I fixed my kitchen tap last month and I'm still riding that high. It's more like a permanent confidence boost, you know? Once you realize you can actually do it without calling a plumber, the feeling sticks around. Maybe it's just me, but that boss feeling doesn't really wear off.

Yeah, that's what I've heard from a lot of people who do their own fixes.
