Had to pick between keeping the house or keeping steady child support payments

I chose the house in the settlement last year because I wanted stability for the kids, but now I regret it since property taxes here in Austin jumped $500 a month and I am barely keeping up. Has anyone else made a similar trade-off and found a way to make it work?

Losing child support was a mistake since that money is way more reliable than house equity.

Kept my house and it paid off way better than child support ever did.
