Heard my ex say I never tried hard enough to a mutual friend last week

It really got me thinking about how we both remember the same 12 years completely different, and has anyone else had to deal with someone rewriting your whole marriage story like that?

Man, that hits way too close to home! My ex told people I never took our vacation planning seriously, but I was the one who booked every trip, saved up for them, and drove 12 hours straight each time while she slept. She'd tell folks I was "emotionally checked out" when I was the one who remembered her mom's birthday and fixed her car at midnight after her alternator died. It's wild how someone can just flip the script and make you look like the bad guy when you were busting your butt the whole time. The hardest part is knowing your side of the story doesn't get told because you moved on while she's still telling her version to anyone who'll listen.
