My friend in Omaha told me to block my ex on everything right after the papers were signed, but I waited six months and it was the right call for me.
I needed that time to process the finality without the extra drama of a digital wall, and now I feel ready to hit that block button without any second-guessing, so has anyone else found that advice timelines are super personal?

Yeah, totally. I mean, it's like that with most big life advice, right? People want to give you a universal rule, but the timing is always different for everyone.

It's the same energy as telling someone to just follow their passion. Sure, that works if your passion isn't collecting vintage bottle caps. The advice is fine, but the details are what actually matter.

Ha, yeah that's a fair point. But I'd push back a little on the bottle caps thing - even that can turn into something real if you dig into the history or start trading with other collectors. Guess it's more about what you actually do with the passion, not the passion itself. @ross.christopher kind of hit on it with the timing thing too, which I think gets overlooked a lot. Like, following your passion in your 20s with no savings is different than doing it in your 40s with a safety net, you know? The advice is fine, but the when and how matter way more than the what.

What's the point of advice if it doesn't fit your own life, @ross.christopher?
