My lawyer said I was negotiating like a doormat, she was right
During mediation last month in Columbus, I kept agreeing to every counteroffer just to keep the peace, and my lawyer finally stopped me and said 'you're not being fair to yourself, that's how you end up with nothing.' She made me write down what I actually needed, not what I thought was polite. Has anyone else had a professional call out that people-pleasing habit and did it actually change how you handled the divorce?

Did writing down what you needed actually hold up when you got back in the room, or did that list quietly go out the window once the pressure hit?
