My mediator's one question about the kids' schedule stopped me cold

We were hashing out week-on, week-off in late February and I kept pushing for Friday handoffs because it suited my work trips to Phoenix. She just asked, 'When does he actually see them awake?' I sat there doing the math, my ex gets home at 6pm and the kids go down at 8, so he was looking at two hours a day, not a full week. I switched to Wednesday night swaps that same session, even though it cramps my gym time. Has anyone else had a mediator or lawyer point out something so basic you felt dumb for missing it?
