Picked the restaurant for our 'final' dinner and she ordered the same meal as our first date

Sat at the booth by the window in that little place on 5th Street, the one where we had our first date 12 years ago, and when she ordered the spaghetti carbonara exactly like she did back then, I froze for a second before realizing she was crying, so I asked if we should stop the whole divorce talk, but she said no and we ate silently, then I paid the $64 bill and walked her to her car, so who's right here, is honoring the ritual worse than avoiding it?

Did you actually ask her if she wanted to try again, or was that just a gut reaction in the moment? That silent dinner sounds absolutely brutal, man. I think she might have been testing herself, seeing if the old magic could still override the pain, and when it didn't, she got her real answer. Either way, you showed up and faced it head on, that takes a lot of guts. Are you both doing okay today, or is it still this raw?
