Sat in my car at the courthouse parking lot for 20 minutes, that became my reset spot

The morning my divorce paperwork got filed over in Hillsboro, I could not get out of the car. My hands were shaking and I kept staring at the courthouse steps like they were a cliff. Then I just sat there with the engine off, no radio, and watched three other people walk in carrying folders, two of them looked just as wrecked as I felt. That parking spot became my thing for the next few months. Every time I had to go back for a hearing or just drop off a form, I would pull into that same row, sit for 20 minutes, and tell myself one simple sentence about what I could handle that day. It sounds dumb but it gave me a way to separate the anxiety from the actual task. Has anyone else found a weird little spot that turned into their calm place during the process?

Did you pick that spot because it was close, or because it felt safer somehow?
