Stop telling newly divorced parents to 'keep it friendly' without a plan for the kids' phones

After my ex and I split in Austin last March, our 11-year-old got a phone and every 'friendly' text thread between us turned into a passive-aggressive war zone about school pickups and screen time, so has anyone else found a concrete co-parenting app rule that actually works or are we all just winging it?

That "passive-aggressive war zone" hit home, we use a shared Google Sheet for everything now.
